What is a CSA?
A community supported agriculture program (CSA) is a simple idea. The “members” buy a “share” of the farmer’s harvest at the beginning of the growing season and comes to the farm each week to pick up a share of seasonally available vegetables.
What will you get when you become a member?
In addition to the certified organic vegetables grown right here at Heart Beets Farm, each week we will provide an email newsletter with recipes, cooking tips, and field updates from the farm. The idea is to have fun with your food, be an adventurous cook, and be excited about tasting something new. We will provide you with a clean, inviting, fun, healthy experience from week to week. There is also a members only facebook page, key for CSA success! Check out this video of our live unboxing videos: Week 1 2019
What about too much food?
Some members choose to split shares with another household. Many members choose our newest CSA option, the Petite share. This is an every other week share that is perfect for smaller households!
We also offer a donation bin for you to place items you may not like or might not get to using. These items will go directly to families in our community who need them. In addition we offer compost drop off too. Bring any kitchen scraps and yard waste (no grass clippings please) and we will gladly compost them for you.
What sets us apart?
Aside from being Certified Organic, we at Heart Beets Farm only distribute vegetables that we grow ourselves. We never buy in vegetables or other products to fill out shares. We take the time to get to know our members through face to face interactions at all of our distributions. Our CSA is the cornerstone of our small-farm and it shows through the quality of our shares and the genuine connections we make with our members.
